First entry, let's go!
From Friday May 15th to Sunday the 17th, the gang and I went to Anime Central in Chicago. Here's a little photo dump. We met the real life Turbo Granny, played around in the arcade, and as a bonus, I was able to score a sealed (unfortunately late-production run) copy of one of my favorite titles, Katamari Damacy, to my collection!
Of course, the highlight of the weekend was meeting Soichi Terada of Japanese house music and Ape Escape soundtrack royalty. I freaked out all week over what I should ask him to autograph, only to find out that I missed the signup for the autograph session. I showed up anyway, and was in the middle of being turned away when one of the staff bursted into the hallway to announce that Mr. Terada wouldn't be at the signing session, and instead could be found at one of the Industry booths in the Exhibit Hall on Sunday at noon. This was a miracle.
I planned to have him autograph my Anime Central program booklet because I wasn't able to find a vinyl copy of Sounds From The Far East that would ship to me in time for the convention. Guess what I found only a half an hour prior to the Sunday signing?
